OdieVPN does not log:
- which websites you visit;
- what you send or receive through the VPN;
- your messages, searches, or downloads;
- the contents of your internet traffic.
What may be needed later
To manage OdieVPN safely and fairly, we may later need limited technical data. For example: whether your access is active, which VPN access was created for you, roughly how much data was used, and reports about abuse or security. We use this for management and support, not to monitor what you do online.

What is OdieVPN?
OdieVPN is a small VPN service for trusted users. With OdieVPN you can better protect your internet connection, for example when you use public Wi-Fi or a network you do not fully trust.
We are building OdieVPN step by step. Calm and careful is better than fast and unclear.
How much does OdieVPN cost?
OdieVPN costs €5 per month or €30 for six months.
What is a VPN?
VPN means Virtual Private Network. In plain language: a VPN creates a secure connection between your device and a VPN server.
Your internet traffic then first goes through that VPN server. This can help protect your connection. On public Wi-Fi especially, it can make it harder for others nearby to look at your connection.
What kinds of VPNs are there?
There are different kinds of VPNs.
For example, there are personal VPNs. You use these yourself on your phone, laptop, or tablet. OdieVPN belongs in this category.
There are also business VPNs. Companies often use those so employees can securely log in to a company network.
There are also different VPN technologies, such as WireGuard, OpenVPN, and IPsec. OdieVPN uses WireGuard because it is a modern and lightweight VPN technology.
Are VPNs legal?
Yes, in the Netherlands, using a VPN by itself is normal and allowed.
One thing remains important: what is illegal without a VPN is still illegal with a VPN. A VPN must not be used for abuse, attacks, spam, threats, fraud, or other illegal activity.
Some countries have stricter rules for VPN use. Traveling abroad? Always check the local rules.
Does a VPN make me completely anonymous?
No. No VPN can honestly promise that you are completely anonymous.
A VPN can improve your privacy, but you are not invisible. Websites may still recognize you through cookies, your browser, your account, your payment details, or because you are logged in somewhere.
That is why we prefer to be honest about what OdieVPN does and does not do.
What affects VPN speed?
VPN speed depends on several things.
Your own internet connection matters. The distance to the VPN server is also important. The farther away the server is, the greater the chance of delay.
Server load, your device, the VPN technology, and the quality of the network also make a difference. A VPN can sometimes be slower because your connection takes an extra route.
Why is OdieVPN invite-only?
OdieVPN is invite-only at first so we can start calmly. This helps us test properly, solve problems faster, and keep the service personal.
We do not want to grow too quickly if that harms security, clarity, or support.
Does OdieVPN log what I do online?
No. OdieVPN is not meant to track your internet activity.
We do not want to store browsing history, DNS queries, traffic contents, or visited websites. We use only limited technical information that is needed to keep the service safe and stable.
Think of server status, outages, security alerts, and support when you ask for help.
Can I use OdieVPN on my phone?
Yes. You can use OdieVPN with the official WireGuard app. It is available for many devices, such as phones, tablets, and computers.
You then receive a configuration file or QR code that lets you connect.
Do I need a special OdieVPN app?
No, not at the start.
OdieVPN first uses the official WireGuard app. That is simple, reliable, and avoids making you install an extra app right away.
Can I choose a server myself?
At the beginning, the choice will probably be limited. OdieVPN starts small with one or a few servers.
Later we want to add more servers. Users may then be able to choose between different locations.
What can I use OdieVPN for?
You can use OdieVPN to better protect your connection, for example on public Wi-Fi, while traveling, or when you want an extra privacy layer.
OdieVPN is not meant for illegal activity, abuse, spam, attacks, or harassing others.
Is OdieVPN suitable for everyone?
OdieVPN is mainly intended for people who want a simple, clear, and privacy-conscious VPN.
During the launch phase, OdieVPN is not yet meant to be a large business solution with extensive enterprise features. We start small so we can keep a close eye on quality.
Why can my internet stop working if OdieVPN is unavailable?
If the VPN server is temporarily unavailable, your internet connection may stop working for a short time. This can happen because your device is still trying to send internet traffic through OdieVPN.
In that case, temporarily turn off OdieVPN in the WireGuard app. Your device will then use your normal internet connection again. Maintenance or updates that may affect the connection will be communicated in advance by email.
What if OdieVPN has an outage?
If there is an outage, we try to fix it as quickly as possible. We want to communicate clearly about it.
Because OdieVPN is being built step by step, some things may still change at the beginning. We choose honesty over empty promises.
